Giveaway Winner!

Last week I did a giveaway for my 3 year blogiversary.  Wow, 3 years!

Time to pick a winner.  I know I told you I'd do it over the weekend.  Well, sorry, I was too busy going to IKEA, church, and taking a nap.

First I'll write down the entries on a post-it...
Then I'll fold them up...
And lastly I'll pick a winner...
Yeah Mandy (I can't remember, but Mandy's blog may be private)!  This was Mandy's entry...
"Me, personally... i love your updates on life! I love getting to read about what's been going on with you and how God has been working through your life!

I also love your scenery photos- you're SO good at those and I love getting to see where you've been :)

But most of all, I love that your blog (&mine) have reconnected us!"

I agree!

Mandy, you know how to contact me (e-mail, text, call, stop by, comment, facebook, etc.).  Pick a method and let me know when you'd like to pick up your jar of Santa Maria.

Don't worry folks, I plan on doing more giveaways this year.

Go Wolf Pack!

A few weekends after I went to the ranch, I went to Reno.  This trip was with Devon and George to go to Devon's brother's college football game at University Nevada-Reno.
See, Reno.  "The Biggest Little City in the World".  Maybe that's an overstatement, biggest little city in the world.  But still, Reno is like Las Vegas not on steroids.  Vegas = steroids.  Reno = unsteroids.

We pulled into Reno sometime around 9pm Friday evening.  Dumped our stuff off at the hotel then headed down to scope out the gambling scene.  And you know what, there was a gambling scene.  Smoking included.  I forgot about it being legal to smoke in the casino.  Gross!  Just so you know, at one point I was up $15 from where I started.  Then the "what-if, maybe" kicked in and I kept going.  I ended up leaving down $40.  Oops.

Saturday afternoon was the football game.  First we had breakfast.  Then I bought a Wolf Pack long sleeve hoodie.  Had to fit in you know.  Collin Kaepernick, #10, starting quarterback, future NFL star!

The Wolf Pack won!  70 to 45, or was it 35.  Regardless, they beat Idaho.  Collin ran in 4 or 5 of the touchdowns.  See that poof of smoke?  Yea, that cannon would go off everytime Nevada scored.  You'd think I would have gotten used to it.  But no, everytime I jumped. (Picture of Collin making touchdown.)

Post game photo ops.  Devon and myself.  We were waiting for Collin to come out of the locker room.

George and Devon.  Such a cute picture if I say so myself.

After the game we had pizza and wings at Collin's courtesy of Devon's parents.  Then we went back to the hotel/casino to see if we/I could win some of my money back.  No such luck. Oh well, $40 towards a weekend of entertainment isn't too shabby.

We left for home around 9:30/10ish the next morning and were home by 1:30ish.  All in all a good weekend away.

Puppy for Sale, Only 50 Cents

Wow! We've officially had this little guy for 2 weeks now!
So here's the story. It was a Monday and I was driving home from Turlock. I was in a hurry so I could finish reading my bible study lesson before everyone showed up in an hour. While getting ready to pass Hilmar Cheese a little fuzz ball crossed Lander looking very scared and panicked. I kept driving. I called Kaitlin. She said that maybe it's so and so's little poodle that got loose. Guilt kicked in. So I turned around.
I found the little guy, hiding under some desks that are being stored (?) outside. He came right to me. So we walked to the security guard to see if they could call animal control to come get him. Well, being as it was after 5pm and since all 5 pounds of him weren't a threat they weren't coming. Ok, so I'll take him home for the night, go to the vet in the morning to see if he's chipped and go from there.
After feeding, watering, and bathing him at my place, with minutes to spare before bible study, they (Kaitlin, Chris, and Colleen) took him across the street. I feared that our dogs would make a squeaky toy out of him. Which they didn't. When I went over after 9pm they were all playing. Hallelujah! Chris kept him overnight.

Vet: no microchip. No signage around town. No missing puppy cries. No sign of missing pet anywhere. Possession is 9/10 of the law, right? So he, Hobie, has a home. No, he's not with me. I'm not ready to replace Izzie yet. He is Chris and Colleen's dog, that lives with my parents and will move out when Chris does.
So there you have it. There is a new, lovable fuzz ball in our lives. He's still very much a puppy, with puppy teeth but without puppy breath.

And don't worry, we only picked about 267 fleas off the little guy. I think they're all gone now!

When the Make-Up Counter Goes Wrong...

Application...Pucker and smile...
Oops.
Gotta love RED lipstick!

Does that remind anyone of their grandma or great aunt? Can't you just smell their perfume too?
(Thank you for allowing my to show these pictures Kaitlin!)

The Dog Days of Summer...

are upon us!
I have honestly never understood how Skippy can lay out in the sun on the hot cement in 100 degree weather. My feet hurt walking across it barefoot.

You called?

A Work Birthday

This is what I found when I got to work Thursday morning...
And a birthday treat. Is there a better day to start the morning then with a donut?Don't forget the paper towel dispenser!
And 2 wonderful gifts from two great co-workers, Devon and Charmaine.
Is the pig not the cutest thing ever!?! He's from the Visitor Center. I pet 'em every time we go up front. And the gummy turtles. I love gummy things.

But what should I name him? Or her?
