This Ain't My First Rodeo

I'm determined to make it through this holiday season with little to no weight gain. So I'm going into it with a plan. Starting today, the kick off to the glutton fest. I'm writing it down to be held accountable, therefore, you get to know what it is.

Don't you feel privy and special?

1. Drink LOTS of water. And I mean lots! (in between the glasses of red wine...)
2. Wear tight pants. That's right, no elastic, no expanding, no sweatpants. I'll know when I'm done when my waistband cuts off circulation to my lower half.
3. Fill half my plate with veggies. So what if my sweet potatoes and green beans are swimming in butter.
4. Go on a walk pre and post meal. Ok, fine, so the post meal walk is really to make room for dessert.
5. Dessert. Oh dear. Stick to desserts that contain fruit. Pumpkin pie, berry pie, apple pie. Pecans are a protein nut, so I'll allow pecan pie too. Oh, and 1/2 fat, slow churned ice creams are clear too.

I heart FroYo

While going to college, my roommate and I frequently would take late night trips to Bali's.

Self serve frozen yogurt at it's finest. And the only place I knew of that offered that service. You could get as little or as much as you wanted of yogurt and toppings, paying for your treat by the ounce.

While visiting Melissa and Mark a few weeks ago we went to Yogurtland. Again I was in love.

I must admit, Yogurtland was better than Bali's. Probably because they had about 15 more choices of froyo/tarts to choose from.

I was in froyo heaven!

I don't know where the nearest pay by the ounce frozen yogurt place is in relation to my home, but by golly, I'm gonna find it!

Anyone up for the hunt with me?

FYI...I did found out that there is a Yogurtland in San Ramon. So next time (in like 3 years) I'm in that part of the Bay Area you better bet I'll be stopping.

Tomorrows breakfast

No Candy Breaks

I made it all day today without making any trips to the various offices surrounding me to collect candies. That's huge. Seriously. I normally get up from my desk numerous times during the day and collect little sugary treats. And that's gotta stop.

Sugary treats sabotage my "diet".

But it's not a diet, it's a lifestyle change. And it's not that candy isn't allowed, I just have NO control.

I heart sugary treats.

I've done it!

You can't go wrong...

than spending an evening with friends having dinner. (That'd would be 99% fat free chili for me and regular chili for the rest.) Hanging out. Drinkin' some wine. And relaxing. Nice.

Monterey Day Trip

So this past Saturday I went to Monterey for the day with a good friend, Stacey. This trip was two fold, celebrating my Stacey's birthday, and visiting my brother who attends CSU Monterey Bay. The day was great. Stop at the campus to see where my brother is living and pick him up. Headed to Cannery Row. Ate some grub at Bubba Gump's. Walked around a bit. Went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and checked out all the sea creatures. Walked around a bit some more, this time it was raining a little. Got some salt water taffy... Yummm.... Drove to Carmel and ate at Forge in the Forest. Everyone had a great time. It was sad to have to leave the beautiful coast. But it's comforting knowing that it's only a 2 hour drive away. I've attached a few photos of the day (by the way, if you haven't figured it out I love pictures).
