The Blind Side
Which I loved. I loved The Blind Side. And in all honestly, I'm gonna say it was the best movie I've seen all year. The story (which is a true story) was amazing and the characters were perfect. There isn't one thing I didn't like about The Blind Side.
Ok, that's not true, I didn't like Sandra Bullock as a blonde. But man was she spunky!
So, if you haven't, go see it. If you have, what did you think?

Hannah Montana: The Movie
I have a confession. I'm a closet Hannah Montana fan. I enjoy watching the show on the Disney channel. What can I say? And I know I'm not the only one out there. Join me in admitting it.
I've wanted to see this movie for awhile. Like since it came out in the theater while. But I never made it to the theater. Being that it's now out on DVD I decided to rent it. Red Box really. Only $1, can't go wrong there.
So early this week I Red Boxed it with Kaitlin. And you know what? I really liked the movie. Sweet and endearing as well and comical and entertaining. There was even a little bit of a cute love story. I recommend people to watch it, and not with the excuse that you have a daughter, sister, niece, etc to watch it with.
3.5 out of 5 stars.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
Being as I haven't read the book since it first came out, I couldn't really remember what was supposed to happen. Except for one part. (But I won't mention what it is as to not ruin it for those of you who haven't seen it.) I must admit though, I was a bit disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the movie was very well done; but something was lacking. There wasn't as much action as I thought there would be. Some of the story lines and characters weren't well developed and introduced. And they changed a few things from book to movie. Good thing I had gotten warning about these few things or else I wouldn't have realized it. It was still an entertaining movie though and I liked it.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, you get 3.5 stars out of 5.

The Proposal
A week and a half ago Kaitlin and I went and saw The Proposal. I'm a fan of Sandra Bullock. And Ryan Reynolds is pretty funny too. So put them together and let's see what you get. I thought it was a cute movie. So what if it was a little predictable. Big deal.
Ironically, the movie was primarily set in...guess where... Yea, Alaska. Sitka to be exact. So the scenery was beautiful. And it was a good cast of characters.
I liked it!
I recommend it.
Go see it.
4 out of 5 stars.
(By the way, I don't know what movie in my mind is a 5 star movie. And I'm kinda like my dad, nothing ever gets a perfect score.)

The Hangover
TWO weeks ago I went with my bro, his bff, and his bff's fiance to see The Hangover. Let me tell you, this movie was HILARIOUS!
Hilarious, I say. I laughed so hard so many times though the entire movie.
I don't know where to even begin. So, if you're a fan of comedy similar to "Knocked Up" or "Wedding Crashers" go see this movie.
Prepare to laugh.
A lot!
4 out of 5 stars.

Up
Go see Up!
Disney/Pixar rocks! They've out done themselves again. It's such a cute movie with a good story.
My favorite character...Dug. Squirrel! Point!
4.5 out of 5 stars!

Transformers
So I finally saw it. And I don't know why I waited. I wish I would have seen it in the theater. It was a great movie! And it was clean. I think the little robot guy said "oh shit", but then again, maybe it was "oopsie". Kait and I couldn't tell. But that was really the only "swearing" in the movie.
So, if you haven't seen Transformers. Go (rent) see it. When the second one comes out in a couple weeks, go (to the theater) see it.
4.5 out of 5 stars.

Terminator Salvation
Humm... Well... I honestly probably could have gone the rest of my life without seeing this movie. It wasn't horrible. Just not my taste.
Why did I go you ask? Well, people were leaving my little Memorial BBQ Soiree and headed to the theater. And well, I didn't work today. So I didn't have to be up early. And well, my new "interest" was going. Therefore, I had to be there too. Although, while at the theater he would have rather stayed at my parent's house, hung out with my dad drinking home brew beer and smoking a pipe. Talk about make my heart swoon.
I digress. We'll have to talk about that later. Some other time.
So the movie. There were no bright cheery colors. There were horribly evil terminator machines. There was the voice of batman, I mean exact same voice from Christian Bale. And there was some other actor dude that I've never seen before but ends up being a new version of a terminator machine. Along with Arnold. He's back...
Kinda, I think the govenator was a fake.
I would give this movie...
2 1/2 out of 5 stars

Angels and Demons
I'm not Catholic, nor do I know a lot about the church's history. So I was a bit confused with some of the characters and their titles and what they did within the Catholic church. There are things that I know in the deep recesses of my mind, like the black or white smoke when voting for the new Pope happens.
I went into the movie having no idea what to expect. To be honest, I haven't even seen the DaVinci Code (and was told I wouldn't need to). Nor have I read either of the books. The movie was good though. Action packed. Full of suspense. A little gruesome. There were a few scenes that I had to look away during, or hide behind my hands.
I would give it a 3 1/2 out of 5 stars.
On a side note, in the Vatican there is an area (you see it in the movie) where there are steps that led down to where the former popes are "buried". My dad when he was younger visited the Vatican, and that area was roped off. My Nana took that as a suggestion and not forbidden, so she lead my dad and his brother down there. Creepy!

Star Trek
So what did I think? It was really well done! It was entertaining, especially Captain Kirk (yum!) and the doctor...Bones...? I say go see it!
4 out of 5 stars

Wolverine
A group of, I don't know, 15 or so met up at the theater for the 9:50pm showing of ...
Wolverine.
So people came to my place prior to the movie to hang out and fellowship. Then we met the rest of everyone at the theater.
The movie was...really good. Hugh Jackman is easy to watch for an hour and a half, that's fer darn sure! There were certain parts of the movie that were not explained very well. I won't go into what they were in case you plan on seeing it. I don't want to ruin it for you.
All in all a good movie. If you want to see it, it's a definite must in the theater with the giant screen and surround sound.
I would say, 4 out of 5 stars. (Although, I don't know what I would consider a 5 star movie. But I rarely give a full 100%.)

Slumdog Millionaire
Literally, the amount of awards the movie won probably weighed about a ton.
So I rented it. From a Red Box. I love the Red Box.
And let me tell you, it was a GOOD movie. Kaitlin and I watched it together, and we were both highly impressed with the movie.
I don't want to give it away if you haven't seen it yet, but plan on it. But I highly recommend it.
And you know what, I'm also highly impressed that the movie powers that be started trust accounds for the kids that are in the movie because the really are slumdogs.
So go rent it. Or red box it. Or iTune download it. Whatever your method is, watch the movie.

Movies I've Seen in 2008: June
Little Nicky (TV): Ok, yea, I'm a little behind and haven't seen this movie. While working on my quilt yesterday, my viewing options were 1) Little Nicky, or 2) the US Open, which is like watching paint dry. So I watched Little Nicky. It was ok. Nothing that I'm going to make sure I watch again. And I dont' know if it's even on TV again and nothing else is on if I'll watch it. It's an ok movie if you can handle hell and hell jokes and mocking of heaven and angels. I say don't waste your time, but your call.

Movies I've Seen in 2008: April and May
April/May
27 Dresses (DVD): This was the first movie that I watched on my TV, on the same day that I put my couches in the house. I love this movie. It makes me feel good. Please see February's list for more of my review of this movie. But you know, I enjoy Katherine Heigl as an actress and James Marsden is adorable. I could look at him all day long.
John Tucker Must Die (DVD): Cute, fun movie. I'm sure every girl has can understand the main female roles in this movie. They all want revenge because of either being burned by a guy, or because they were totally ignored by a guy. And of course the popular guy, no matter how hard you try, will never be brought down.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (theater): Go see this movie! I'm not going to tell you anything that happens, but I will tell you it's totally worth it. At least it is if you grew up watching Dr. Jones. And just like every other Indiana Jones, there are parts that are a little far fetched, but still great entertainment. So, go see this movie!
Made of Honor (theater): This movie looked super cute from the previews, and it was. But I must admit, I was a bit skeptical because it looked like it was going to be a lot like My Best Friend's Wedding, but roles reversed. And it kinda was, but at least it ended better. And Patrick Dempsey is so easy to stare at for 1 3/4 hours.

Movies I've Seen in 2008: March
August Rush (DVD) - I heard mixed review about this movie going into it. But the good out weighed the bad, so I went for it. I admit, it was a little slow. But it was a cute story and I got wrapped up emotionally in it. Yes, I shed a tear or two at the end. If you like music, watch the movie. If you like tear jerkers, watch the movie. If you just want to watch a movie with a happy ending, watch the movie.
Georgia Rule (DVD) - Ok, so this was a movie that I wanted to see when it was out in the theater, and Target had it cheap on DVD so I went ahead and bought it. The movie was not what I thought it was going to be about, but it was still a good flick. Lindsey Lohan plays her character perfectly, an out of control skanky slut. WOW, sound familiar? No wonder she played the part so well! The theme of the movie was parents not showing their love for their children and how it affects further generations. In the end, everyone loves everyone and they all tell each other.

Movies I've Seen in 2008: February
Good Luck Chuck (DVD) - This movie is not what I expected! Yea, it's funny and all, but there is a lot of booby. Think Wedding Crasher meets Along Came Polly. Still a funny movie. But note to self, do not watch with parents.
No Reservations (DVD) - A little slow. More depressing than I thought it was going to be based on what I remember previews to be. Who doesn't like a movie involving food and good looking chefs?
Juno (theater) - I really didn't know what to think going into this movie. I had mixed feelings about the story line, but went to see it anyway. The movie was good. Funny. Thought provoking. Ellen Paige was great! Very funny with all of the Junoisms. I recommend seeing this movie at some point.
Hairspray (DVD) - Can't see how this movie got such raving reviews. Yea, it was good and all, but not as good as I thought it was going to be. John Travolta = not a very good actor playing a woman.
27 Dresses (theater) - Love, love, LOVED this movie! So the story of my life. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride. Doesn't know how to say no. Super cute, funny, entertaining, captivating, etc. Great movie. Can't wait until it's out on DVD.

Movies I've Seen in 2008: January
Enchanted (theater) - Gotta love Disney movies! I liked this one, probably because I wish to be a princess and have my Prince Charming come after me. And most of the time I live in a fairytale world (mind). Highly recommend this movie for the Chic Flick viewers and little girls.
Knocked Up (DVD) - Ok, so I bought this movie after Christmas with a gift card that I got as a gift. This movie was HILARIOUS! Loved it! Vulgarness and all. I swear, the f word wasn't written into the script, but the actors were just told to use it whenever it fit as much as possible. I don't recommend watching with young children or your parents, neither of which I did.
P.S. I Love You (theater) - GO WATCH THIS MOVIE! I read the book about a year ago, and I cried. I heard that a movie was being made out of the book and I was so happy. P.S. I Love You is hard to explain on the reason for the sobbing, just watch it. You'll totally understand. It's one of those happy, sad movies.
Shrek 3 (DVD)- You know, it was cute, but I was kinda disappointed in it. I like the first 2 Shrek movies better.
Bourne Ultimatum (DVD) - Love this triology! Good movie. I really enjoyed it. Although, it's been awhile since I saw the first 2 movies so I felt a little lost. I think I need to watch all three in succession.
I'm horrible about going to the movies. I always claim that I'll watch it when it comes out on DVD, which just about never happens. So, this year I'm going to keep track of the movies I've seen, whether in the theater or on DVD (first time viewing only). Maybe if I'm feeling up to it I'll even write my review.
